One of the islands' oldest and most popular seaside resorts with a dedicated staff that doesn't go away. Recent corporate takeovers have drained a tiny bit of its soul, but it's still hard to find a vacancy without Martha Stewart-style planning. The setting is serene, practically balanced on boulders over the vast clear blue. We could spend the entire time on the spacious palm patio surrounded by the surf and sky, but wouldn't miss our chance to hit the freshwater infinty pool and wrap ourselves in the ridiculous attention of La Serena Spa. Only a handful of rooms and suites, with two cottages, making the air quiet and romantic, depending on where you land. Three in-demand restaurants are on-property, and the bar is a local classic.
