The Royal at The Raleigh

Editorial Review

After a year of speculation, chef John DeLucie of Waverly Inn/The Lion fame is opening a similar, satellite-ish version of his Gotham grubpub in the form of The Royal at the Raleigh Hotel. In between cameos on Gossip Girl and taming The Lion, DeLucie promises food that's similar to New York's, but very different from Miami's. In other words no foie gras empanadas here, just down home, albeit modernized, American comfort food. As with his other establishments, seats at The Royal will be, uh, a royal pain in the ass to score. Which makes it that much more tasty, doesn't it?
