For full immersion in New York living, install yourself in this unassuming inn, tucked away on a leafy Brooklyn side street. The basement two-bedroom suite is the best way to go, with its own bathroom, a kitchen, and access to the backyard garden. Sharing a bathroom might be a little more immersion than you're up for, but when you factor in the price, the location, and the homey ease? You can share the toothbrush holder. Décor is unpretentious and tasteful, and they spare you the forced tedium of breakfast chat by not serving it.
