Directly across from the Ritz – on the other side of the flowing Neptune fountain is the hotel that most Madrileños refer to as “The Palace.” Ask any local, and they’ll tell you that “The Palace” is the best hotel in Madrid. Inside you’ll find high ceilings, the Asia gallery, shops, a salon, fitness center, and solarium. They have a modern Chinese restaurant that caters to patrons of the hotel and to locals, and also the English style bar draws a sophisticated bunch that you’d expect to see puffing a cigar. The rooms are bright and spacious and the suites are beautifully decorated and luxurious. Prices are upwards of 550 euros.
