The pirate-themed Treasure Island was a prime example of Vegas' attempt at being "family-friendly" back in the early 90's - and we all know what happened to that. Realigned as "T.I." Treasure Island revamped its trademark pirate-ship battle to include stripper-esque "Sirens" along with steroidal male pirates and ship-crashing fireworks and added nightclubs and restaurants geared toward a more mature crowd. The Christian Audigier Nightclub attracts Ed Hardy-loving tool dudes, while the Social House sushi and sake lounge draws a prettier, more upscale crowd. Many of the rooms have recently been redone in a streamlined, modern style and the Wet Spa and Salon provides a full range of services. The MGM Mirage megacorporation recently sold Treasure Island - ahem, T.I. - to New Frontier owner and businessman Phil Ruffin, perhaps signaling a new trend in ownership on the Vegas Strip.
