BlackBook Lowdown

Once touted inaptly as the “Waverly Inn East” because it was co-owned by ex-Conde Nast CEO Steve Florio (and because with only 30 seats and a no reservation policy, you either have to know him or stick around a while). Things have changed since Florio's passing and the departure of chef Scott Conant. Donna Karen's daughter Gabby came in and turned this bright yellow bayside bistro grey and chic, but it still serves pleasing pastas, chilled pea soup, and fresh seafood to the fashion set tutto il giorno (all day). Whether they actually eat it is another story.
