Usagi Ya

Editorial Review

Androgynous, black and white Nagel-esque paintings on the walls and a taupe-y earthtone interior are the hallmarks of this out-of-the-way sushi bar. With amorphous light fixtures on the ceiling that look like futuristic ikebana flower arrangements and icy tubular chandeliers, Usagi Ya is reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's Kordova milk bar in "A Clockwork Orange." The wood tables and sushi bar soften the effect enough for diners to enjoy maki and nigiri.
