VG stands for very good, which, according to the donut fans who have been flocking here since 1969, is a bit of an understatement. Line frequently extends out the door, but it moves quick, so don't hesitate to join the cultlike crowd. Donuts baked at 4am and 4pm, but why stop there when there's also pastries, muffins, cookies, bread, desserts, and other goodies. San Diego magazine has voted VG the top donut shop in the city, so they've got that going for them too.
