Designed by Philippe Starck, this Hong Kong import club retains an ambience of hip dignity totally lost in Shanghai’s brassy super clubs. The two-level guest list-only venue is signature Starck, but rawer than usual. Satin chaise longes are paired with concrete floors and graffiti-smeared walls. In keeping with the name (Volar means ‘to fly’ in Spanish) winged eagles sit overhead sporting strands of pearls.
