Owner/chef Harold Neuweg consumes more bratwurst and beer on a Monday than you do in a year; he’ll let you know this while he hovers over your table demanding to know how the schnitzel is. Over 43 years of affordable Bavarian cuisine puts this on the Aspen to-do list, if not for the infinite Warsteiner Pilsner, then for Harold’s fresh sauerkraut. European flags hang over the lodge-style dining room while Austrian curses fly from the bar showing non-stop skiing and soccer. Much to Harold’s dismay, the social scene is sedate—you’re coming for the menu, not the view.
