Yung Kee sits like a big Buddha at the heart of Central, with the financial district before it and the nightlife of Lan Kwai Fong behind it. Bankers and businessmen stream out of towering offices after work and into Yung Kee for a taste of its famed roast goose (siu ngor) and barbecued pork (char siu), both a staple of Cantonese barbecue (siu mei). With the taste of those delicious meats still in their palate they file out and disperse into the bars. Such is life in Hong Kong, and it’ll continue much the same, flu or no flu.
