If you visit only one bar in Shanghai, make it YYs. The décor is dated and slightly grungy, the service so-so, and there’s absolutely no semblance of New Shanghai bling. But this long-standing local favorite retains its sense of casual friendliness that epitomized Shanghai’s bar scene back in the formative late1990s. A cherished gem.
