Story goes the old owner heard cows mooing at this former beef packing shop, so he walled it up until its discovery 20 years later. New incarnation as cool ‘50s-, rockabilly-style bar keeps things beefy, with original white tiled walls, counter, meat hooks and display windows. Tongue-in-cheek butcher murals stare down at tatted-up wait staff serving bottled beer and juicy butcher-themed drinks. Rock ‘n roll adds sauce to choice, well-dressed patrons in black absorbing red neon behind the bar. Stays open till the cows come home: mid-morning.
