If famed Mexican land-reform revolutionary Emiliano Zapata and this gigantic restaurant named for his followers could have found common ground, perhaps it would have been at Zapatista’s $5 weekend brunch, where huevos rancheros bravely battle “sangria-ritas” for territory on the menu. (That’s sangria and frozen margarita mix, vato.) Or perhaps it would have been at the bar during “Jorge’s Mojito Mania?” (Tuesdays, $5 mojitos.) Despite the liberties seized with such dishes as “Mexican French Toast” and the “Chopped Revolucion” salad, their made-to-order guacamole and tequila selection are just too good to call Zapatista on its corn.
