Santa Monica Place is a mall, sure, but it's one of those new-fangled indoor/outdoor spaces that could be called 'upscale'. Fancy stores, restaurants with expensive cocktails. This is one of them. Indulgent, fresh-fruit drinks. Menu with a bit of everything exotic: carnitas rice noodles, chipotle-miso black cod...is it good? That's a matter of taste. But at least the mall can be bypassed by the one-stop exterior elevator.
