Chilean designer Maria Cornejo quietly opened up a small Nolita boutique back in 1996 after taking the fashion world by storm in London. Cornejo has always been this way--well-known but not mainstream--so it was only a matter of time before that small boutique became a frequently visited one. Now, ten years later, Cornejo has moved her business just across Houston where she can enjoy an in-house atelier, showroom, twice-as-big retail space, and as much natural light as a New Yorker with a penchant for high-quality black clothing can handle.
