When it comes to legendary clubs, The Starck Club ranks up with them. The Studio 54 of the South was visited by world leaders, celebrities and the who's who - but it wasn't about them. It was about the club and the people and the wild costumes (and ecstasy, back when it was legal here). Now Zouk has opened in the long-vacant spot and although it will never live up to the '80s hotspot, it's not trying to do the same thing. This is your typical bottle service fare, typical bottle service girls and typical bottle service crowd, but the numbers have been good so it's not a bad spot if you're up for that kind of thing. Given that the place is so big, it hardly ever looks full, which some people love and others keep moving thinking it's not happening. Like most places of this ilk, it's open, decorated well with nice furniture, has decent enough DJ sets and pretty people to look at, but it doesn't really stand out if you've seen enough clubs to know better. It's not bad, it just has some mighty big shoes, er, boots to fill.
