Thanks to Doug, our Harrys-hating commenter, I was reminded of the venerable hat company Henschel. A quick click revealed the topper shop is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Happy birthday, gentlemen! And congratulations. Since hats are trending on the rise, it's perfect timing. But why hats, and why now? BlackBook's Alisa Gould-Simon chalks it up to the economy. "Like most other trends right now, a good hat can transform an outfit and you can also wear it every day. It's a recession-friendly accessory. Also, like everything, the hat trend fluctuates. Four or five seasons back hats were huge, they went out, now they're back."

The BlackBook edit staff decamped to the West Coast this week for our upcoming special Hollywood issue, embarking on a non-stop star-packed marathon of splashy (literally!) fashion shoots and do-tell-all interviews. We danced with Paparazzi (the 23-year-old next superstar deejay, that is) and tried not to gawk or stalk the many other awesome stars who crossed our paths. Hardest of all to resist: Morrissey, whose new album, due out early next year, we anxiously await. Several Morrissey sightings have left a resounding echo in our heads: the orchestral strains of "Everyday Is Like Sunday." Silent and grey, however, not so much.
