If you loved Bridesmaids but wanted to see more scenes of screaming women giving birth, I've got good news: a huge chunk of the Bridesmaids cast, including Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, and Chris O'Dowd, have reteamed -- this time with Adam Scott and Jennifer Westfeldt -- for a comedy about parenthood and sex.

Our favorite under-appreciated actor Adam Scott is going to Parks and Recreation. Variety is reporting that he's joining the cast at the end of this season as Amy Poehler's love interest, and returning next season as a series regular. Good for him! Scott is a wry and hilarious talent, consistently good in everything he's in (Step Brothers, Eastbound and Down). He's especially good in Party Down, the much-loved, little-watched Starz comedy about Hollywood wannabes who work for a catering service. Jane Lynch left that show to join Glee, and now Scott is jumping ship to join Jeff Zucker's evil empire. Starz is a young network with a small audience, so it's no surprise they're losing their best talent to the big time. We talked to Adam Scott a month ago, where he echoed that sentiment, and expressed his fear of losing more cast members. Little did he know he was talking about himself.

We've been on the Adam Scott bandwagon for a while now, from his days as a rubber-cocked husband on HBO's Tell Me You Love Me, to his gloriously douchey turn as Will Ferrell's brother in Step Brothers. Now we're pleased to have the Independent Spirit Awards aboard with us, since they plucked his performance in a little-known movie called The Vicious Kind and stuck it in a category with award season titans like Jeff Bridges and Colin Firth. Bravo! In The Vicious Kind, Scott puts on a seething show as a deeply disturbed blue collar dude who's infatuated with his younger brother's girlfriend (Brittany Snow). Yes, Tell Me You Love Me was as depressing as TV gets, but this role is still a departure for an actor who's flaunted serious comedic chops in things like Knocked Up, Eastbound and Down, all over Funny or Die and most recently in Starz' catering comedy Party Down. When Scott rang us up to chat about his movie, we covered a wide range of topics, like his director's non-existent pubic hair, his upcoming bloodbath Piranha 3-D and the plot points of Ice Cube's next movie. The highly edited transcription, after the jump.

This news breaks my little heart. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that HBO has decided not to renew their graphic relationship drama Tell Me You Love Me, despite the fact that it was one of the better shows on television. The news is especially troubling because I had the pleasure of speaking to one of the show's stars last month (Adam Scott), and although it isn't explicitly mentioned in the interview, he told me they were planning on starting shooting in January, with the new season slated to air sometime next year. The show's creator, Cynthia Mort, said that "given the considerable amount of time that has passed and despite the best efforts of everyone involved, we were unable to find the direction of the show for the second season." That's TV-speak for "not enough people gave a shit." Hopefully, HBO will put those prosthetic penises to better use.

Great Scott! And that's not a hyperbole.
