This weekend, we collected samples from wonderfully harsh reviews of Adam Sandler’s cross-dressing comedy Jack and Jill. Would you see Jack and Jill after reading any of those criticisms? Would you see it after being subjected to the trailer? Well, neither the preview nor the vitriol spewed by America’s film critics did much to deter the public, as Jack and Jill made $26 million weekend.

● This here is what a picture of Al Pacino dressed as Phil Spector during the music-producer-turned-murder-convict's electro-shocked hairdo days looks like. Welcome back, Al Pacino. It feels like you've been gone for, oh I don't know, 88 minutes. With a trailer that took me completely by surprise (I had know idea this movie was getting made) Pacino appears--or rather disappears--as Dr. Jack Kevorkian in the unfortunately titled HBO film You Don't Know Jack. Kevorkian is of course the infamous angel of death who who spent nearly a decade in prison for assisting in the deaths for over 130 terminally ill patients. Starring opposite Pacino is a crazy good cast that includes Susan Sarandon, Danny Huston and John Goodman. The trailer is brief but hypnotic, providing only a tease of what looks like a towering performance. We'll be seeing him come Emmy time, for sure. After catching the new trailer for Laura Linney's new Showtime drama The Big C, and now this, it just reminds us that all the action these days is on television. Check it out after the jump.

As the honorary Cohen on FOX's soapy hit "The O.C.," actor Ben McKenzie became an overnight sensation poised for tabloid notoriety. Surprisingly, he's since kept a low profile (with the exception of 2005's indie charmer Junebug). He's now back and ready to trade in his 15 minutes for 88 Minutes, a new crime thriller starring Al Pacino. Say hello to our not-so-little friend.
