Remember back in the day when Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour hated the word "blog" so much that she literally banned it from the magazine's website? And you can imagine her disdain when she found out that there was a group of individuals actually called "bloggers" that were not only being invited to fashion shows, but also received front row seats, sometimes right next to her. But in the past few years, Wintour has somehow tip-toed her way into a blogosphere love fest, becoming buddy-buddy with top bloggers and featuring them in both the print and digital versions of her magazine. And now, fresh off a Webby Award win, she plans on making Vogue.com the top-ranking online fashion website.

Fresh off his 2011 Vogue Fashion Fund win, a dazzling London Fashion Week show, and major props from Anna Wintour, London-based designer Christopher Kane has announced that he's working with J Brand to produce jeanswear for his 2012 resort collection. In addition to the use of denim, the line will employ a range of other fabrics, which we hope will include a touch of Kane's signature acid-trip prints.

Chances are pretty high that you’ve been to either the Brooklyn Flea or the J.Crew men's store (and likely, both), but two recent celebrity sightings serve to remind us that stars can be found anywhere! Carine Roitfeld, the infamous and influential editor of French Vogue, has announced her resignation from the magazine after 10 years at the helm, in order to focus on personal projects. Under Roitfeld's tenure, French Vogue has became one of the most progressive and creative fashion publications in the world and has set a standard for excellence in fashion editorial. “It’s 10 years that I’m editor of the magazine, I think it’s time to do something different,” Roitfeld told Cathy Horyn at the New York Times. “When everything is good, maybe I think it’s the time to do something else.”

Well, not really. Though Diddy, a.k.a. Sean Combs, has recruited Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, along with other fashion heavy-hitters such as Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, and Isaac Mizrahi, to do voice work on his upcoming album with Dirty Money, Last Train to Paris. Though she needs no introduction, Wintour's line is: “This is Anna Wintour from Vogue Magazine; you are now listening to the Last Train to Paris.” One has to wonder, will this lead to more musical work for Wintour? Or perhaps a hook on one of Diddy's songs?

Mayor Michael Bloomberg is making the survival of the Big Apple's fashion industry his pet project. The Mayor has already involved himself in Anna Wintour-approved initiatives, like her incubator for emerging designers, and it appears that his commitment to fashion is only growing. In fact, he's got a six-point plan. "Outlined at the Women’s Wear Daily C.E.O. Summit at the Plaza Hotel, the mayor’s initiatives are intended to reinforce the city’s position as a magnet for emerging designers and to nurture the next wave of design, management and retail professionals," says the New York Times. After city officials and fashion-industry heavyweights participated in a year-long study, called FashionNY2020, Bloomberg has settled on half-a-dozen initiatives that should encourage the stability and vibrancy of the industry.

Anna Wintour has a lot to celebrate these days. In addition to Fashion's Night Out shaping up to exceed last year's event, Wintour's also just overseen the relaunch of her digital extension, Vogue.com. The site is celebrating a rebirth with a fresh redesign courtesy of Code and Theory, an agency responsible for media sites such as The Daily Beast, Interview, and AOL. Better late than never, the site promises a number of stellar features, including, says Women's Wear Daily, "such elements as an oversize features carousel (which integrates advertisements) with images that are three times larger than before, a locking navigation bar (essentially a traveling table of contents), plus Vogue-inspired typography and lots of white space, or 'breathing room,' as Caroline Palmer, editor of vogue.com, put it." The site is also pushing interactive and social boundaries.
