● CNBC’s video that goes inside Boeing’s new Dreamliner aircraft makes a persuasive case for the plane as the game-changer the aviation company claims. The spacious entry with its soothing ambient lighting, large windows, and roomy overhead bins seems poised to address customers’ main environmental complaints -- we’ll see if the industry agrees. [CNBC] ● The TSA is testing out a new pilot program that will partner with the Trusted Traveler programs already in place through U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as with passengers on two airlines (Delta out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta and Detroit Metropolitan and American out of Miami and Dallas-Fort Worth) to allow some pre-screened passengers to board through an expedited lane. If all goes well, they hope to phase in multiple other airlines operating out of different locations. [TSA]

The culinary scene in Atlanta has never been so hot, thanks to a new movement of outside-the-box creations like Top Chef: Chicago contestant Richard Blais' Flip Burger Boutique and local favorites like Sotto Sotto giving a downtown, no-frills spin to fine dining.

When I visit my family in Duluth, Georgia, I make sure to spend a few nights in Atlanta, a metropolitan city where, of all the places I travel, I somehow feel the most out of shape. Blame it on the fried green tomatoes or sweet tea or the heat or the sheer fact that you must drive literally everywhere in the city. Whatever the reason, I completely let go. On my most recent trip, however, I was able to take part in a quiet fitness revolution that will shape up any local who feels the same. Exhale Spa and Fitness, a boutique chain with nationwide locations, had its grand opening in Atlanta yesterday, and it's so special and so massive (22,000 square feet, rare for an urban spa), I actually delayed my flight back to New York to check out the amenities.

What are you going to do tonight? Sit around at home, alone? Another night flying solo, your biggest “move” is the one from your couch to the fridge and back again. You’ve got a warm beer in your hand and a lonely heart in your chest cavity. That’s no way to pick up your next pretty young thing. Since you're already at rock bottom, don't pretend you have standards: Check your recent Facebook invites. Drunk- text the cutie you work with. Or, if you have a free moment, download BlackBook’s free) iPhone app, which will give you a heads up to the best bars in your neighborhood. Because let’s be honest -- you have a better shot with the ladies at a bar than you do watching Jersey Shore at home. It’s a proven fact.

Hotlanta's airport, the ever-confusing ATL, is debuting a new service this holiday season, a service aimed at "sleepy" travelers who want to catch some shut-eye between or before flights. These "sleep rooms" are cozy, clocking in at 7 by 8 feet, and are equipped with a daybed sofa, fresh blankets and pillows with disposable pillowcases. There's also a desk, a phone, an office chair, a Wi-Fi connection and HDTV. Oh, and each room has a "sound-masking system," guaranteed to reduce noise so that you can rest. Has ATL unwittingly opened a pay-by-the-hour establishment, where "sleepy travelers" go into the "sleep rooms" looking tired and worn down and come back out refreshed and renewed, perhaps due to some vague vigorous activities happening behind closed doors? No word on how many "sleepy travelers" are allowed in to the rooms at a time, or on who has to clean up after them. Rates are $30 for the first hour and $7.50 for each additional 15 minutes.

Forbes trotted out a "Most Toxic" survey, and proudly crowned Atlanta the Queen of Dirty, with Detroit coming in as runner up (can they ever be the best at anything?), and Houston, Chicago, and Philly rounding out the top five. And by "toxic" they don't mean backstabbing and trash talking, so unfortunately they're not referencing NeNe, Kim, Lisa, Kandi, or Sheree. Instead, the survey focuses on air quality and the amount of toxic chemicals released into the water and air in the metro areas. Atlanta takes the top spot because of its dirty immediate neighbors -- Forbes is quick to point the finger at Sandy Springs (holla Sheree!) and Marietta.

My title doesn't refer to the lowly Atlanta Braves baseball team, who host the lowly New York Mets, in a game that seemed to be important back in April but is now as meaningless as the word "justice" in Georgia's capital city. Atlanta's having lots of image problems. First, Michael Vick, their star quarterback, makes headlines for the torture and murder of dogs, then native son Kanye West goes whacko in front of the entire world, and now at least 15 police officers raid a gay club and handcuff, hold, and harass 62 patrons for over an hour. Some are held for many hours. I'm not visiting Atlanta anytime soon. Nor should anyone, until they get this gay raid thing straight.
