A safe place for extravagant taste, the annual Costume Institute Gala is the ultimate platform for fashion's finest to bring their sartorial A-game. Considering last night's Met Gala was a tribute to Alexander McQueen, we were surprised to see only a handful of guests wearing his famously outré designs. In fact, many attendees played it safe this year, which only made the risk-takers shine even more on the red carpet.
