The wretched Sex and the City prequel continues to fill the gossip press with nonsense, this time about who may or may not be filling the big shoes of the original cast members. Leaving aside the fact that the prequel itself is a not-so-great idea, these rumored casting decisions leave much to be desired. Let's take a look.

Just when you thought the Sex and the City franchise had swilled its last round of cosmos, SATC author Candace Bushnell revealed an interest in having Selena Gomez play a younger version of Charlotte York in a big-screen prequel to her novels, entitled The Carrie Diaries and Summer in the City. Which seems fitting, given the starlet has barely graduated from Disney teenbop cuteness and Charlotte is delightfully naïve, even in her thirties.

As if a certain set of illicit photos that showed up online last week didn't already do so, some early Twitter reactions to Green Lantern have seconded what we've suspected for a long time: Blake Lively is very good looking. Ahead of its June 17 release date, the Ryan Reynolds-starring superhero space opera was recently screened to some entertainment journalists in LA, and they could barely contain their excitement for Reynolds performance, among other things, the beauty of Blake.

Possible reasons why Blake Lively might be topping Google Trends: Her movie, Green Lantern, is coming out in a few weeks; People are fascinated by her rumored romance with Leonardo DiCaprio; She gave a bombshell interview to Glamour, wherein she talked about being drawn to darker roles; The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 was on Cinemax last night; There are supposed naked pictures of her online.

● Sarah Palin and Donald Trump met at New York's grimiest pizza parlor, Famiglia, in Times Square, where they picked at their slices with plastic utensils and thought about how awesome a pizza-party themed campaign could be. [NYDN] ● It's hard to see past the fur boots and the hair poof, but if you look carefully, you'll see that Snooki is wearing a post-accident neck brace. [Gawker] ● It seems like a terrible branding move, but Kim Kardashian wants to take her hubby's name, meaning it'll be Mrs. Kim Humphries from now on, thank you very much. [TMZ]

A safe place for extravagant taste, the annual Costume Institute Gala is the ultimate platform for fashion's finest to bring their sartorial A-game. Considering last night's Met Gala was a tribute to Alexander McQueen, we were surprised to see only a handful of guests wearing his famously outré designs. In fact, many attendees played it safe this year, which only made the risk-takers shine even more on the red carpet. One guest who didn't skimp (does she ever?) was Anna Dello Russo, who wowed in a tuxedo by Sarah Burton topped off with a glitter egg fascinator. See a few other gala surprises after the jump.

Flipping through May's newest glossies, I had a thought: Is red hair the new bang? I had just noticed Kate Moss in Vogue Paris looking punky in (temporary) red locks, and was flipping through Lara Stone's editorial "Wild!!!!" in Vogue China, where the gap-toothed one is also sporting a new red 'do.
