There were plenty of outdoor events this past weekend to keep you slick with sunscreen and sweat: the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, the Northside Festival, Pride Kickoff. But where all things shiny are concerned - from glitter to lasers to, yes, copious perspiration - nothing compared to the lineup at this year's Governors Ball. Thousands flocked to Governors Island to dance their collective asses off to the sounds of Passion Pit, Big Boi, Das Racist, Miami Horror, Empire of the Sun, Girl Talk, and Pretty Lights.

Stuart Braunstein’s multifarious Bowery showroom, Collective Hardware, is now debuting main floor exhibition space, and on the second floor, famed NYC hairstylist Peter Vancek’s salon. Both are open for business: the exhibition space recently hosted events for Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld's Louis Vuitton-sponsored, curated exhibit and also managed to pop up in an episode of The City. Braunstein's still making moves after this, though: construction's underway for the other three floors, said to house a recording/rehearsal studio, in-house artist space, and a tattoo parlor.
