Designer Charlotte Ronson gets the New York Times profile treatment this weekend, which includes a ton of name dropping and the insight that "She's not the Ronson who dated Lindsay Lohan" that's her sister Sam, and that she's "not the Ronson who in 2008 won three Grammys including one for producer of the year for working with the late Amy Winehouse. That’s her brother Mark." Charlotte has been designing since 2000, shown for several years at Fashion Week, and even has lines with everyone from Urban Outfitters to JC Penny, so you probably already knew the difference between her and her siblings. But admist all of that clarification, there is an interesting bit of fashion-related info.

While non-fashion folk closed up shop on Friday night to enjoy 48 hours of R&R, the rest of us geared up for two days of back-to-back presentations and runway shows by trading in our 7-inch platforms for flats. You see, dressing cute the first few days of NYFW is fun and all, but after a few rounds of subway, taxi, and – yes – pedicab sprinting to complete an impossible schedule, comfort rapidly becomes key. Sure it's stressful, but you know what? We love it. Read on for Part One of my weekend show and party highlights, including a chat with Jessica Stam and Terry Richardson--bonus Grace Coddington sighting--after the jump.

There were more photographers than actual humans in attendance at the launch party for Charlotte Ronson's beauty line at Hotel Chantelle. In between posing at the step-and-repeat, guests dined on rigatoni bolognese and other treats and retold their Hurricane Irene experiences. In fact, save for Irene and sister Samantha who couldn't get there because of the storm, all Charlotte's girl pals were there to support. Drea de Matteo, Shoshanna Gruss, Dani Stahl, Eleanor Ylvisaker, Becka Diamond, and mom Ann Dexter-Jones made the scene. The retractable roof remained open, and the cooperating weather was all the rage.

Just when you thought it might be possible to get by without an iPad, along comes an app from the beauty bigwigs at Sephora. After checking out what it's got to offer, even their spiffy website looks creaky in comparison. The three main categories are Beauty Report, Social, and Shop, and within those tabs you’ll find the usual social media and video components, as well as Beauty and the Blog, which takes viewers behind the scenes with Sephora editors, and Daily Obsessions, featuring must-have picks from the staff.

Ah, the outdoor music festival. Long days of leaping across muddy fields, sweating to a live soundtrack of your favorite band, your hair perfectly matted after days without shampoo. It's the way life was meant to be lived—and it's also the partial inspiration for Charlotte Ronson's Spring Runway looks. Charlotte's lead makeup artist, Gilbert Soliz, channeled the epic desert fest Burning Man to create the look of a grunge girl who's just spent days parading in the dust. Despite the heat, she "still manages to look pretty, not a mess," says Soliz.

Only during Fashion Week do you see industry folk bright-eyed and dressed to the nines on sub-zero, it's-so-early-it's-still-dark-out weekend mornings -- all in spite of hard-partying the night before. You can catch them dashing like trained athletes between shows at Lincoln Center, Milk Studios, and various other obscure venues for hours on end, fueled by copious amounts of caffeinated beverages (sometimes spiked – I mean, who's really that chipper in the am?).

Fashion Week has descended upon New York City, anointing new and yet-to-be-opened venues with its holy presence. Fashion houses and fashionable rags have shouldered their way into seen-and-be-seen restaurants and night spots, and have sold off their first born in order to offer their party guests a first look at some unopened places, like The Mondrian and the Darby's buzzy basement. The perennial question: Whether to elect tried-and-true spots (or, in the case of Alexander Wang, gas stations and bounce houses) over what could be just a flash-in-the-pan hotspot. Herewith, a rumor-mongering and totally useless look at where all the week's parties shall take place.

Another Shopbop wish list from their "Fashion Insider" series has popped up, and this time it's with Leandra Medine, the mastermind behind the desexifying fashion revolution, The Man Repeller. Coining terms like "Yeshiva Chic" and "Birth Control Glasses," we really had no choice but to become absolutely addicted to the 21-year-old's hilarious take on the latest trends. For those of us wanting to expand our anti-guy-arousing wardrobe, check out her wish list here, which includes gems like the See by Chloe Quilted Cape, the Jenni Kayne Leather T-Shirt, and the LNA Open Elbow Long Dress.
