And yea, the children will come from miles around to sweat in the desert, take colorful drugs and listen to reunited Swedish punk bands. Two of the biggest surprises in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup announced on Monday were reunion shows from Refused and post-hardcore cult favorites At The Drive-In, who broke their 11-year silence on Twitter.

Apparently, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg had some extra SkyMiles laying around, because the two performed a duet of the The Chronic 2001 classic "The Next Episode" yesterday in Singapore. They appeared at the Mnet Asian Music Awards to show their support for the vibrant music scene in the Pacific Rim. That, or to promote Dr. Dre’s Beats brand headphones. Either way, watch the most recent live performance of “The Next Episode” this side of the Up in Smoke Tour.

50 Cent impressed us a few days ago when he stuck up for Chris Brown by directing his obnoxious, yet entertaining tweets at Bill O’Reilly, but last night he got a little serious, for once. Fif, who has been openly beefing with his label Interscope Records, announced that he’s canceling the release of his Black Magic album, after the album’s single “I’m On It” leaked yesterday. He’s so upset, in fact, that he’s now threatening to leak a new Dr. Dre single as revenge!

It takes a brave blogger to combine the words “Dr. Dre,” “Detox,” and “release date” in a headline. So for those of you who contributed to yesterday’s rumor that Dre's long-awaited album would arrive on 4/20 by adding a question mark to your tweets, hats off to you. Detox will not be released on April 20. How did the confusion get started in the first place? Producer Just Blaze posted a short Twitvid on Monday in which Dre hinted that Detox (or, in fairness, some other project that his fans have been waiting on for over 10 years) would “come” on 4/20. During the video, Just Blaze also told fans they could expect to see a real live unicorn this year…and it turns out the man had a point.

For hip-hop enthusiasts, 2010 was the year in which the imminent release of Dr. Dre's long-awaited Detox album finally started to seem like a reality. Originally set to hit stores in 2004, Dre's supposedly final album was repeatedly delayed for a number of reasons, not least because of his obsessive perfectionism and his commitment to producing other artists. But in late 2010, two tracks from the album appeared online: "I Need a Doctor" featuring Eminem and "Kush" featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon (check out its official video here). Just before the holidays, we were lucky enough to get on the phone with Snoop, and we asked him what he knows about Detox, now scheduled for a February release.

A few weeks ago, we broached the subject of Dr. Dre’s forthcoming album Detox, which is currently scheduled for a February release. Just in case the album is slapped with yet another delay, we speculated that a few Dre-produced tracks from Eminem, Dipset, or J. Cole might pop up to tide the masses over, and it seems like Eminem might be up first. Hip-Hop mixtape DJ, Big Mike (the guy who was apparently responsible for leaking Eminem’s "Crack A Bottle" single back in 2008) announced yesterday that he’s got his hands on a new Dre production to kick off 2011.

Admit it: When a snippet of 'Under Pressure,' the first joint off the long-awaited Detox album, leaked a few days ago, you were disappointed. I mean, some fruit-loops beat, tags layered all over it, and Dre saying nothing substantial—it was a major let down. Chronic 2001 was a great album because the beats were incredible—warm, live samples carved into absolute perfection—and Dre actually bothered to address some serious themes. With 'Under Pressure,' it seemed strange that a 45-year-old Dre was releasing a shallow party song. Well, the full version of that shallow party song is out. Are you ready to experience it?

Last night, I was witness to miracle after miracle—the blind saw, the deaf heard, the oil spill in the Gulf evaporated, the troops came home from Iraq and Afghanistan, T-Pain stopped releasing music—and, as I frantically looked around, searching for what caused all this beneficence, I soon realized: "Oh, a song from Dre's Detox finally leaked." The song is called 'Under Pressure' and it features Jay-Z and, yes, if you play it for ailing loved ones, their sickness shall be cured and you shall know eternal bliss.
