Alexander McQueen always put on incredible runway shows, there’s no doubt about it. You can’t describe them as anything less than spectacular. They are always my favorite shows to watch because you never know what you’re going to see or what is going to happen. We can only hope the incredible designs live on, despite the untimely death of Lee Alexander. While absolutely stunning, Alexander McQueen designs can sometimes be a little over-the-top for some of us. I love the drapey look and shimmery pink/gray color combo of this runway ensemble. So how can we appropriate the design and create a wearable version? With just a little research and creativity!

You'll be surprised how far a few hundred dollars can take you. After all, how much fun is a purchase if you'll be eating ramen for a month to make up for it? From her red-and-white polka dot mini dress, black stockings, and over-sized yellow pumps, Minnie Mouse has become the most famous style icon in animation. Originally designed in 1920s flapper-style, the fashion-forward Disney character has been a trendsetter for nearly a century (and not just as a Halloween costume for tots and tweens). In 2008, Minnie took on NYC Fashion Week as part of Zac Posen’s memorable ready-to-wear collection, where models walked down the runway with black pom-poms in their hair like mouse ears. More recently, Mickey’s better half has made an appearance in Forever 21’s 2010 holiday collection as “Minnie Muse."

Whether you call it a warmer, snood, or just a really cozy necklace, the circle scarf has swiftly made its way into stylish closets everywhere. The pre-shaped style is easy to throw on top of any outfit, saving the time you'd normally spend deciding on how to wrap your conventional scarf. Above are a few examples to fit every budget, but if you'd rather test the trend before you buy, grab an old knit sweater and some gorilla tape and follow this brilliant how-to.

The end of summer shouldn't mean storage for your favorite mini-frocks. Take a tip from Paul & Joe's Fall/Winter 2010 collection on how to bundle up with cozy legwear under knitted jumpers and sheepskin-trimmed shorts. Try a layered look under micro minis, pairing crochet tights with mohair legwarmers or over-the-knee shearling boots. Leave bulky snowsuits for the slopes and go for a sleeker, more feminine silhuouette in all things legwear.

The arrival of a massive Forever 21 in Times Square is nigh. Set to occupy the former Virgin Megastore storefront, Forever 21 will open its doors to a sprawling 90,000-square-foot (read: an entire city block long) fast fashion behemoth in the middle of billboard-and-tourist heaven. To help ring in the highly-anticipated June 25th debut, the LA-born retailer has installed a massive countdown clock (pictured here). "Bonus intel: Our spies tell us that everything inside the store is white, including the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling over the escalators to the lower levels," says Racked.com. In addition to a monochrome interior, shoppers can expect countless racks stocked with knock-offs and the cheap, disposable, uber-trendy styles with which the retailer has become synonymous. Meanwhile, fellow Angeleno clothing purveyor Arcade has taken its shop into digital territory.

Illustrated T-shirts by California-based artist Danny Roberts featuring likenesses of fashion bloggers got loaded onto racks at Forever 21 today. "The portraits on the shirts of the bloggers behind Pandora, Fashion Squad, Because I’m Addicted, Style Bytes and Alice Point were culled from an existing series of blogger images, many of which he made to thank bloggers he reads and appreciates," says Women's Wear Daily. Up next for the 24-year-old artist is "a third collaboration with Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers and a first with men’s footwear brand Heutchy."
