While Madonna's Givenchy-happy halftime show was certainly a highlight of yesterday's Super Bowl, we were also pretty hyped to see H&M's $3.5 MM commercial for their Bodywear collection with David Beckham. As we hoped, the ad features Beckham's body in all of its athletic glory, which was a nice reprieve from the actual game and a heck of a lot more interesting than most of the Super Bowl aired that day. See the 30-second (NSFW, unless you make this window really tiny) ad after the jump.

While five-month-old Harper Seven Beckham has already taken the fashion world by storm by outshining Suri Cruise, let's not forget about her equally influential parents. David Beckham has been selected to be the focus of H&M's first Super Bowl commercial, which will advertise the athlete's Bodywear collaboration with the Swedish fast-fashion retail chain.

David Fincher's highly anticipated adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo isn't due out for another few months, and yet people are already comparing the film's forthcoming pandemonium to Harry Potter and Twilight. While Stieg Larsson's award-winning page-turner is reason enough to stir fanfare, it's the striking image of actress Rooney Mara as the story's anti-heroine that has everyone hooked. With the help of the movie's costume designer, Trish Summerville, H&M is bringing Lisbeth Salander's dark, disheveled, and disturbed style to the masses.

We tip our hat to whoever does the casting over at H&M, because the Swedish retailer has just about every top model lining up to be in their campaigns. In the last year alone, Gisele Bündchen graced the Spring 2011 catalogue, followed by Natasha Poly for Summer, with Sasha Pivovarova and Karlie Kloss covering the Fall lookbooks. And H&M's latest campaign is just as impressive.

Remember when Donatella Versace notoriously declared that she'd never do an H&M diffusion line? Well, the Versace creative director has had a change of heart, and Lady Gaga's Versace-strewn "Edgy of Glory" video might've had something to do with it. Today, Donatella announced that the Italian fashion house will become the Swedish fast-fashion retailer's latest guest designer. Start dusting off your lawn chairs and sleeping bags now, people.

H&M just announced that it has partnered with Lanvin again to create a children's line for the All for Children initiative. This September, the collection will be available online and in 150 H&M stores worldwide. H&M calls the clothes "updates of well-loved classics, giving them a contemporary twist." We call them delightfully sophisticated, but only if you've got the cash to spare on your spoiled progeny and need the charitable component to assuage your bourgeoisie guilt.

Despite helping to develop the Gap's 1969 premium denim line, the company's vice president of design, Patrick Robinson, was dropped last week. Considering the brand is in the midst of a design-team reform, the news hardly came as a surprise, but we still think that 1969 was one of the best ideas to come out of Gap in years. So what's next for this fading American brand?

Ann-Sofie Johansson, the head of design over at H&M, recently selected her essentials from the Swedish retailer's latest sartorial offerings. In a video featuring model Zuzana Gregorova, Johansson breaks down the basics of spring fashion, including jersey maxi dresses, uniform-inspired jackets, loose-fit denim shorts, and a neutral suit. See our favorites from her picks and the video after the jump.

When news broke that H&M was teaming up with a fashion blogger to design a capsule collection, everyone in the blogosphere lost their minds. Up until then, the cool kid of fast-fashion had only collaborated with established designers like Lanvin and Sonia Rykiel to create limited edition wares, so for a mere fashion enthusiast to land such a coveted with the brand was unheard of. But the Swedish company didn't just select anyone for the gig -- they tapped Elin Kling, their country's top fashion personality and blogger behind Style by Kling. The 11-piece collection (featuring the showstopping dress above and more here) is set to launch in Sweden at select stores this week, which means all of us stateside will have to rely on eBay to score any of it. And while there's no doubt that H&M made the right pick, just who is this international fashion phenom that we're dubbing the Chosen One?
