BBC Children in Need is an annual British charity appeal founded in 1980 by the British Broadcasting Corporation. While we may not be familiar with him in the states, the charity's long-standing campaign star, Pudsey Bear, is a legitimate icon in the UK, which is why a slew of top British designers gladly participated in this collaboration.

Ever since he rolled out those infamous "Fashion Groupie" slogan tees in 2006, British designer Henry Holland has been giving fashion a much-needed sense of humor. His cult label, House of Holland, features loud colors with even louder prints, and is favored by just about every It-girl across the pond—Agyness Deyn, Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe, and Pixie Geldof—who also, of course, happen to his close friends. Speaking of Geldof, the socialite stars in the HOH fall/winter 2011 collection short film alongside the designer and model Dree Hemingway. And it's hilarious.

Diffusion lines are no longer just for big-name designers and internationally recognized fashion houses. In fact, lower-priced lines are fast becoming as essential for budding designers as independently run e-commerce sites. Zac Posen launched his, Z Spoke, just last year, while Alexander Wang has not one but two lower-priced brand extensions. Vena Cava is following suit with a t-shirt-centric line for FW10 called Viva Vena. Rad Hourani has had the same idea too. Now, news has it London-based designer and sometimes television host Henry Holland is expanding his namesake brand in the same way.

Between docs like Lagerfeld Confidential and The Devil Wears Prada, and reality series like Project Runway and Kell on Earth, there has been no shortage of fashion-centric entertainment in recent years. Yet TV execs still seem to be singing the tune of the more the merrier when it comes to creating new style focused shows. Hitting a TV near you this year are shows from both budding boutique owner Lily Allen, as well as former MTV host Alexa Chung and chum Henry Holland. "Allen, who quit the music scene earlier this year to open a boutique called Lucy in Disguise with her half-sister, will be followed by Channel 4 cameras who will record her first independent foray into the fashion industry," says Vogue UK.

It's been 2 years since Henry Holland first announced he'd team with Levi's to create a men's and women's denim capsule collection. Fast forward to today and images from his latest installation for the classic denim brand has been released. If there's one word the looks immediately bring to mind, it's bondage. Leigh Lezark of the Misshapes plays mannequin for the line's look book that includes midriff baring striped tees and slightly washed denim tricked out with multiple buckles.

Just a few months ago I went out on a limb and anointed Lady Gaga as a more powerful a fashion figure than Anna Wintour, in some respects at least. Gaga has endorsed avant-garde designers in a manner never before seen with regard to pop culture. Take her video for Bad Romance, where Gaga schooled an audience far wider than that of Vogue's monthly readership on one of the late Alexander McQueen's most talked-about collections (for SS10). While she may be doing so on a significantly smaller scale, PR maven-turned-reality TV star Kelly Cutrone is following suit.

Henry Holland has been busy this year. The designer -- a "one-man self-marketing wiz" as Style.com phrased it following House of Holland's entertaining SS10 runway show -- is locking down a few big-name collaborations, not to mention perhaps planning a cross-Atlantic move. "I just did a collaboration with Levi’s that will be in stores in February," Holland told Women's Wear Daily at the recent launch of the second annual Six Scents Series, which he hosted. Holland told WWD his Levi's line "will include men's and women's jeans, jackets, dresses and tops." For the Six Scents Series -- a limited-edition collection of six fragrances customized by as many fashion designers (Holland included) -- the designer said he wanted to create something that "suggested friends gathered on an overstuffed purple couch" (e.g. flowers like lilac and mimosa).

Henry Holland, the mastermind behind this collection at Paris Fashion Week, showed shift dresses all perfectly matched with gradated colors and striped ensembles in fur, knitwear, and wool blends. The shoes were a mile high, with strapping and offset in more bright colors. Holland's power comes through when he plays with fantasy, and therein lies the magic. And in times like these, we can all use a little magic.

Optimism is all the rage on Fall 09 runways, and at House of Holland in London yesterday, the theme was no different. Wunderkind Henry Holland lit up his catwalk with a Pantone-inspired collection that included color block separates, covetable striped tights, and face time from Agyness Deyn. The model and close friend of Holland’s both opened and closed the show (her only Fashion Week appearance save for Anna Sui back in New York).
