Peter Pan collars were a trend all over the spring 2011 runways. The school girl-inspired neckwear turned up again and again in the season's ready-to-wear collections, which stepped it up with new ways to wear the conventional collar. Take Isaac Mizrahi's whimsical version of the classic button-up with a rhinestone-adorned neckline. The rounded collar look took on sophisticated edge over at Araks, with a Dutch farm girl take on the Pan collar that used contrasting trimmings on semi-sheer chiffon tops and flowing dresses.

Dismal weather brings out the cook in me. There’s nothing like cozying in your kitchen and whipping up a warm, satisfying dish on a hot stove. It’s also carb season, and what better way to fuel up than a tangled pile of spaghetti? And I’m not talking your childhood sauce-n-glop. No sir. We found a recipe for designer pasta that’ll knock the stockings off your most well-heeled dinner guests: Isaac Mizrahi’s Mushroom Truffle Spaghetti, published this month in Assouline’s CFDA American Fashion Cookbook. Mizrahi’s dishy dish is just one of dozens of stylish entrée, appetizer, dessert, and drink recipes from a roster of fashion’s finest. Hungry? Try Zac Posen’s great-grandma’s butterscotch wafers, or Diane von Furstenberg’s chicken, or Bill Blass’ prune whip.

After five years together, fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi is saying ta-ta to Target, says the Detroit Free Press. Given Mizrahi’s new gig as the chief creative director of Liz Claiborne, it’s not especially surprising he would have neither the time nor the desire to keep the diffusion line going. Without a doubt, Mizrahi helped spearhead the designer collaboration trend, which is more ubiquitous now than ever.

Even though Isaac Mizrahi's performance last night at Joe's Pub was in celebration of the venue's 10th anniversary, the designer and book-writer is somewhat of a regular there, always managing to fill a room even with a singing voice more suited for the shower. But let's face it, nobody showed up to actually hear him sing. Instead they came for the intimate (and hilarious) small-talk and the large personality, the music being more of an aside. Sitting up front was good friend Julie Belafonte, and further back was boyfriend Arnold. It was like being in Mizrahi's living room, one where he just happens to have a full jazz band sitting around waiting to accompany his musical whims.
