The first images of Charlotte Ronson's capsule collection for JCPenney, I Heart Ronson, have dropped. Nitrolicious has posted the FW10 series of look book shots, and aside from an unfortunate styling penchant for over-layering—the socks with heels are beyond the pale for acceptable hosiery, the ankle bracelets a tad too much, the mixing of prints extreme—there are surely pieces of note. A short skirt with an exposed zipper is definitely worthy of a trip to Penney's, as are the cardigans and printed dresses.

Martin Margiela isn’t the only fashion alumnae channeling Martha Stewart and adding home décor designer to his resume. Supermodel Cindy Crawford has signed a deal with JCPenney to create a home accoutrement collection that includes furniture, bedding, window treatments, and more. New York magazine recently got a look at the reasonably priced goods, and they’re definitely worth checking out (think Anthropologie at a more affordable price point). The collection, dubbed Cindy Crawford Style, debuts in JCPenney’s new NYC store, which opens in July.

JCPenney isn’t exactly cool or cutting-edge. But the major chain is banking that an exclusive capsule collection courtesy of Charlotte Ronson (the NYC-based fashion designer and twin to Samantha) might change that. Considering JCP’s last collaboration -- a capsule line with Kimora Lee Simmons which debuted in July and was termed “inappropriate and misguided” -- the retailer is looking for a bit of damage control.
