They've made their mark in the digital world, and now they're taking over print. Tomorrow, a new book from Jane Aldridge & Tavi Gevinson that features eight chapters of styling tips from over 90 top fashion bloggers will hit stands, and it's a pretty big deal. Back in October, personal-style star Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes conducted a contest on her blog for readers to submit their own artistic interpretations of the Spring 2011 collections. Entrants were asked to illustrate their favorite runway look and include the original image inspired by the piece in their submission. What could have been just another blogger contest actually turned into a legitimate competition that drew a number of seriously talented artists, as seen on the contest Flickr page. Yesterday Aldridge posted the 15 winners of the contest, who could all very well be the next top fashion illustrators.

Assuming Google's interactive style curator has staying power, the Boutiques.com race to the top has only just begun. Tastemakers in the celebrity and blogger categories are quickly starting to rack up followers, which can only mean one thing -- who do fashion fans really want to dress like? Well, the preliminary results are in and it looks like pixie-coifed actress Carey Mulligan's shop is the highest ranked with 1,375 followers. Back in June, when news of Sea of Shoes' teenage blogger Jane Aldridge's footwear collaboration with Urban Outfitters hit fashion's blog wire, it was a big deal -- arguably one of the first where a major retailer employed a fashion blogger to design a collection (although Susie Bubble of Stylebubble did this across the pond prior to Aldridge's deal). Just yesterday I posted that Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge has landed her debut designing gig with Urban Outfitters. The fashion blogger and shoephile will debut three footwear looks this summer, with three to follow come December. While Urban Outfitters and other major retailers have teamed with countless designers, this is the first partnership of its kind. And considering the increasing influence of style bloggers, it likely won't be the last. Take for instance recent reports that Canadian retailer Holt Renfrew is hopping aboard the style blogger love train.

The reputation of fashion bloggers as a class has grown exponentially in recent seasons. Take the likes of Susie Bubble of Stylebubble and Byran Boy of the namesake blog; the best and the brightest of the online sartorial scribe set have successfully parlayed their virtual personae into enviable seats at fashion week, not to mention they're inspiring designers (Marc Jacobs named a bag after the latter last season). It's a far cry from the days when bloggers garnered little more respect than Bryant Park tent-crashers. Times have changed, as Urban Outfitters' most recent collaboration suggests. The mega-retailer, who in the past teamed with cult favorites like Obesity and Speed and Slow and Steady Wins the Race, has partnered with teenage fashion blogger Jane Aldridge of the blog Sea of Shoes.
