I've always related to Jesse Eisenberg, what with us both being Jewy, nerdy, and good at speed-talking. But now I realize we are kindred souls in another sense: We both dig the band Ween. Ween had their moment in the early-to-mid-nineties, when the duo of fake brothers, Dean and Gene Ween, managed to pump out a few novelty hits for Beavis and Butthead to joke about. But the band was really too weird for mainstream success, though they did develop an obsessive cult-following of college stoners like me and Jesse Eisenberg. Truthfully, I'd kind of forgotten about Ween until I read this interview with Eisenberg on Spin.com.

Yesterday at the Soho Apple Store, The Social Network director David Fincher and star Jesse Eisenberg sat for a Q&A. Given that there’s already been significant flap over the film’s accuracy, especially with respect to its portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, it came as no surprise that someone asked the pair about possible misrepresentation. Just how fast and loose are they playing with the lives of Zuckerberg et al? Fincher spoke for both of them, saying, “I don’t think it would be responsible for either of us to enter into an endeavor that was simply a million dollar hatchet job.”

Featuring the combined talents of director David Fincher, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, and Jesse Eisenberg, The Social Network qualifies as one of fall’s more promising releases. I’ll admit to not knowing a great deal about Mark Zuckerberg and the founding of Facebook, but the new teaser trailer pitches a story that’s heavy on drama. It also has zero footage from the film, which makes the spot unusually audio-driven. Check it out after the jump.

Paris Hilton has left Park City, and we're guessing took all of the ecstasy with her. But without some E floating around, the Sundance Film Festival would simply be the Sun Film Festival, so two new movies that revolve around the drug had their premieres just in time. Sadly, they don't seem to be that good.

During my entire undergrad stint at McGill University in Montreal, the only film ever shot on campus (besides crappy student ones) was Abandon, that throwaway thriller starring Julia Roberts' ex-squeeze toy Benjamin Bratt, Katie Holmes before she was kidnapped by Tom Cruise, and Zooey Deschanel before me and every other guy who dances poorly to Passion Pit fell in love with her. The whole escapade was no big deal, and campus authorities felt no need to tell students that C-list celebrities were invading their campus. Not so at Johns Hopkins University, where a pretty big deal of a movie starts shooting on campus beginning November 2nd.
