It was just over a year ago when Liam Gallagher first announced that he was launching the anti-fashion fashion line, Pretty Green. Having created the collection after being fed up with "that skinny look... that shit, those pointy shoes," Gallagher self-described his brainchild as "classic... nothing wild, not Jean-Paul Gaultier, just cool." Well, today Gallagher is opening up his very first brick and mortar operation in a 2,000-square-foot space in London on Carnaby Street. "Fitting the classic mod aesthetic theme, the store boasts floor to ceiling windows clean mod fixtures, recalling a time of 60’s nostalgia, encompassing an air and vibe inherent to the collection itself, with custom fit shelving throughout, the Green label and Black label SS10 pieces will be available to buy as well as exclusive one off pieces to purchase," a press release reads.

Last summer, Oasis frontman-turned-designer Liam Gallagher got into the fashion game with a menswear line called Pretty Green. With it, Gallagher hoped to get rid of "that skinny look ... those pointy shoes," of which he was decidedly not a fan. The line, which he described as both "tasty" and "nothing wild, not Jean-Paul Gaultier" is now reportedly spawning a sister collection. Having had significant success with lads -- "its success does surprise me considering I've got something to do with it," Gallagher recently told Vogue UK -- Gallagher is now turning his sights to outfitting women.

Kids these days, they don’t really know that period. I started my own label, Pretty Green, with the hope of bringing late-’60s British classics to the masses.

Oasis' infamous frontman Liam Gallagher's clothing line has launched to quite a bit of fanfare. According to Dazed Digital, the line, called Pretty Green, "went on sale to registered members this morning and due to the overload of people trying to access the site it crashed, reportedly in excess of 100,000 customers." (On the other hand, the line has been far from popular when it comes to the press.) Dazed & Confused's online counterpart also caught up with the designer, who spewed quite a few headline garnering quotes in a video interview. Liam on Liam's line: "Fucking tasty."

Add Liam Gallagher to the list of musicians moonlighting as clothing designers -- a roster that already includes Justin Timberlake, one of three faces behind the line William Rast, and U2’s Bono, who launched the eco-friendly fashion brand Edun a few years ago. The Telegraph is reporting that the infamous Oasis frontman will launch a fashion line called Pretty Green (named for a The Jam song, not for any environmentally friendly connotations), which he’ll debut in June.
