It shouldn't come as a big shock that I wasn't too thrilled when Jennifer Lawrence won a Golden Globe for Silver Linings Playbook (I still hate that movie), but I don't wish any ill will to the actress, who I think it quite talented as well as smart and funny. I mean, the first thing she said when she got up to that microphone was "I beat Meryl!" That certainly sounded more clever than Anne Hathaway's self-deprecating "blergh," as if she did not know she was going to win. (Come ON, Anne Hathaway, just be gracious without the self-deprecation; we all know how awesome you think you are.) Of course, it comes as no surprise that some people were offended by Jennifer Lawrence's joke, as if Meryl Streep is a goddess of acting about whom no one must exhibit the slightest bit of levity.

Holy cow, Solange. Sure, we've been paying a lot of attention to Beyoncé's moves lately, and it seems like her kid sister didn't want to stand in her shadow too much longer. Last night, the singer-songwriter attended last night’s Girls premiere party in a Just Cavalli patterned suit. You have our attention, Solange. Lindsay Lohan will ring in the New Year in London, supposedly to continue her groupie duties for Max George of The Wanted. And in a claim I am not quite sure I believe, she's also planning to bypass the biggest party night of the year with a quiet night in.

Waiting for Bret Easton Ellis' movie The Canyons to come out is like waiting for one of Jessica Simpson's pregnancies to be over. It. Takes. For. Fucking. Ever.

In this battle of the child stars, someone brought a gun to the knife fight : Danielle Fishel from Boy Meets World donned her craziest granny dress for The Soup in a spoof of Lindsay Lohan's performance in Liz & Dick. 

"I'm happy. I just did three movies in a row and I'm not even tired," Lindsay Lohan told Us Weekly recently. Obviously, she had to prove it by going and getting arrested in New York City last night. At this point, I'm impressed that she's able to keep this up! The only other celebrity I can think of who can stick to a self-defined brand of Being Awful is Chris Brown. 

I had every intention of avoiding Liz & Dick last night. First of all, I don't particularly enjoy watching people crash and burn as much as the next guy—even when that person in Lindsay Lohan. Also, I was fully prepared to be annoyed by everyone on Twitter live-tweeting it. As far as I'm concerned, last night's presentation of Liz & Dick was amateur hour on Twitter (now I know how actual alcoholics feel on St. Patrick's Day). Anyway, I went to see Silver Linings Playbook instead, which didn't last very long. (Congrats, David O. Russell, for directing the first movie I've ever walked out of.) I got back in time to see enough of Liz & Dick to turn it off, and here's what I watched instead:
