MAdonna Super Bowl

M.I.A. pulling out a middle finger during the Super Bowl half time performance seemed pretty shockingly non-shocking when compared to oh say, Janet Jackson, and every other thing M.I.A. has ever done (example:  banned videos, stalking a reporter over writing she ate a truffle fry) but its still been a hot topic.  How did Madonna feel about the whole thing?

● Madonna is so over M.I.A.'s "adolescent" and "irrelevant" hijacking of the half-time show. "I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative," she explained this morning on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. Madonna

This Sunday, Madonna is set to glam up your Super Bowl halftime show to the chagrin of drunk uncles/Santorum supporters across the country. In between whatever medley of "Borderline"/"Like a Prayer"/"Material Girl"/"dear-God-not-"Die Another Day," she'll be joined by M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj to perform their collaborative single, "Give Me All Your Luvin'." This morning, she dropped the music video for that song, which you can watch after the click. It's a glossy production, replete with multiple Marilyn Monroe impersonations, a squadron of football dancers, and enough visual cues to show you that Madonna still clearly considers herself on top of the world.

Assuming it comes out on time, M.I.A.'s upcoming fourth album will be one of the more anticipated summer smashes dropping this year. The hype cycle begins now: today, she released a new single titled "Bad Girls," a rework of the version that appeared on her Vicki Leekx mixtape. An accompanying video by the same guy who directed the one with all the head-shot gingers will come this Friday, but if you don't care about visuals you can listen to the song after the click (via Pitchfork).
