Ding, dong, the witch is dead: MSNBC has announced that it will officially get rid of Pat Buchanan after a decade of having the religious firebrand sputter and spew all types of white supremecist nonsense. Recently, Buchanan had come under attack from groups like Color of Change and the Anti-Defamation League, who simply pointed out what we'd all known for a while: That he was a huge jerk. This pressure presumably expedited the firing process, which he was none too happy about. “The modus operandi of these thought police at Color of Change and ADL is to brand as racists and anti-Semites any writer who dares to venture outside the narrow corral in which they seek to confine debate,” Buchanan wrote in a Thursday column. “Without a hearing, they smear and stigmatize as racist, homophobic, or anti-Semitic any who contradict what George Orwell once called their ‘smelly little orthodoxies.’”
