Lena Dunham’s new HBO show Girls is set to add some honesty to your female-centric TV viewing.  It looks a lot like her mumblecore hit Tiny Furniture, which those who have seen it know is a good thing.  Produced with Judd Apatow and a far cry from the laugh-tracked Whitney or sing-songy cuteness of New Girl, the show promises to adhere to realism with its storylines about four friends suffering post-college ennuie in Brooklyn.  They sat down with NYT Magazine to talk about the show.

Lukas Haas

Lukas Haas is one of those great actors that you never see enough of for some unknown reason.   He’s played bit characters in movies like Inception and had memorables role in little seen but worth-watching indies like Brick.  This year, he's upping his game. He stars in a romantic comedy premiering at SXSW, is signed on to star in a thriller called Dark was the Night, and is in a new movie called Meth Head.  While it doesn’t have a distributor yet, it looks good so expect someone to pick it up.  Watch the trailer below. Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz sent his clothes down the runway for Paris Fashion Week, showcasing a collection full of peplum skirts, low backs, canary yellows and big fake jewels. The 10th anniversary of the brand, they also sent down archived pieces and followed with what the invitation stated would be “d’une fun party.” The event, held in a Left Bank warehouse, lived up to its promise.

Ben & Jerry’s new ice cream flavor honoring Asian-American Knicks star Jeremy Lin caused a stir this week.  Sold only at the Harvard Square location and called “Taste The Linsanity” the original recipe called for fortune cookies which had many calling racist.
