When people die, their possessions are usually dispersed amongst their family, and they either become treasured heirlooms or solemn reminders of what once was. When celebrities die, however, their old stuff turns into cold, hard cash. Over the weekend, more than 500 items from Michael Jackson’s last home sold for north of one million dollars at auction.

Some collectors will pay anything to get their hands on a piece of their favorite star, even if that piece is a body part.  John Lennon’s rotting decayed tooth recently went up for auction for some lucky deranged bidder and now Michael Jackson’s hair has sold for $11,000 to a gambling web site. Will they be displaying it on a wall somewhere?  Of course not.  They’ve come up with a far more disgusting use for it.

● Conrad Murray, who was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson earlier this month, has been sentenced to a maximum four years in prison and, arguably more importantly, has been stripped of his medical license. There's a lesson here, but we're too distraught to realize what it is. [RS]

After his death from a drug overdose (or, according to the courts, involuntary manslaughter), Michael Jackson fans have clamored to get a piece of the King of Pop. Today, there is one less way for them to purchase their own slice of MJ history. E! reports that Jackson’s deathbed has been removed from an auction featuring items from his Beverly Hills mansion. Christmas shopping just got a little harder.

● Discounting earlier rumors that she died from withdrawal, pathologists are now saying that, actually, Amy Winehouse was drunk when she died -- and probably very much so. Blood and urine samples show that the late singer was 4.5 times over the legal drunk-driving limit at the time of her death. Coroners will brief the family on the rest of their findings later today. [Chicago Tribune] ● Jennifer Aniston would like to assure you once more that she is still not engaged and still not pregnant. "I've been married once, and I don't know if I'll get married again," she says. As for her new (barely curvier) figure, "It's just I quit smoking, so I've gained a couple of pounds." ● The Florida man behind the Scarlett Johansson nude leaks has been arrested and charged with hacking into the emails of a slew of starlets. He faces up to 121 years in prison in convicted. Until someone else takes up his little "hackarazzi" project, Hollywood can rest easy. [NYP] ● Nicki Minaj faced her young-blooded competition on Ellen yesterday, where she preformed "Superbass" with eight-year-old YouTube star Sophia Grace. [Us] ● What's up with New York rappers these days not sounding like New York rappers? "New York formalism...is a dying language," says the New York Times' Jon Caramanica. Whereas New York was "once the universal donor [of style], it’s now the universal recipient." Exhibit A: Harlem's promethazine-sipping, Drake-approved ASAP Rocky. [NYT]

● Someone has offered a cool $1,000,000 for the unreleased track playing in the background of Tupac's sex tape. Bidding on the tape, meanwhile, has only hit $150,000. [TMZ] ● Roseanne Barr's return to network television is nearer then ever, NBC having picked up her sitcom Downwardly Mobile. [THR] ● Michael Jackson's kids showed up to Saturday's tribute show to the late performer in MJ-inspired garb. Also of note from the night: Beyoncé performed "Wanna Be Where You Are", and Jennifer Hudson failed to show up, citing "production problems." [People]

● Connie Britton (Tami Taylor) says that a Friday Night Lights movie is "happening for realsies." They've got a producer and someone to write the script. "It's really just a matter of ... getting everyone's busy schedules aligned and making it happen," Britton told Us Weekly.[Us] ● Willow Smith got a verse from Nicki Minaj for her latest single, "Fireball." New colors will need to be invented before they can make the music video. [NahRight] ● In a sad, slurred, and often unintelligible tape played for jurors yesterday, Michael Jackson makes clear the pain he felt for his lost childhood, and the children he befriended. "I love them. I love them because I didn't have a childhood," he mumbles. "I feel their pain. I feel their hurt." [NYDN]

● Conrad Murray's trial kicked off to a grim start yesterday with a photo of Michael Jackson's dead body stretched out on a hospital gurney, an eerie recording of Jackson mumbling, "I want them to say, 'I've never seen nothing like this in my life,' 'he's the greatest entertainer of all time,'" and tears all around. [LAT] ● Apparently Kourtney Kardashian's beau, Scott Disick, doesn't do so bad for himself in the down-under department ("It's like an elephant's trunk!"), and Kim thinks he needs some new underwear ("This is freaking me out!"). [xoJane] ● Apparently Spencer Pratt owes so much money that his agents don't even bother answering his phone calls anymore. Did he buy too many crystals? Not enough crystals? [Huff Post]

● Completely unfazed by the tattoos and cigs, Courtney Love thinks all these pictures of her daughter, Frances Bean, are quite nice. “Well yeah she’s beautiful,” she said. “What else did you expect! She’s my kid!” [NYO] ● Beyoncé is perfect, we know, and her habit of buying fans and staff pizza of course doesn't hurt. [Page Six] ● The Game went on CNN and apologized nicely to the Compton Police Department for tweeting their phone number and jamming their lines, so the police are dropping all charges. [CNN]
