Photographer Wolfgang Tillmans shot Lady Gaga for i-D magazine's latest issue, and she looks positively normal. Obviously, she's wearing those heel-less platforms and her hair is in a grandmotherly gray bouffant, but other than that, these images could be culled from a slightly outré Urban Outfitters catalogue. She looks like your regular goth-tinged hipster with a trust fund to spend at Oak. Do you think this means Lady Gaga is getting tired of all the crap she has to put on every day?

Choonmoo Park may not be a household name in the U.S. just yet, but that is about to change very soon. The South Korean-born designer has been at the forefront of avant-garde fashion in her native country since 1988. After spending the majority of her childhood in the factory and showroom of her family's children's apparel company, Park became fascinated by the transformative and reflective nature of fashion, which followed her through college where she studied both fashion and industrial design. The combination of both fields led her to develop an architectural yet fluid aesthetic. And although her work was unique in Korea, people responded well to her superb tailoring and distinct layering.

Recognized for carrying edgy designers both new and known, Oak NYC is a mandatory stop for local style mavens and in-the-know out-of-towners. Last year Oak launched an in-house line, A.OK, offering the same unique luxe but with a lower price point (most items are under $100). Their e-boutique draws the same appeal, stocking coveted designs from the likes of Commes Des Garcons, Damir Doma, and Rad Hourani.

While you're bopping about town on Fashion's Night Out, stimulating the economy and whatnot with your cab fares and fancy purchases, designers and friends including ROGAN, OAK, The Smile, and Archetype Showroom will be trying to lure you to their neck of the woods. Together with other local favorites, the group's pooling their talents to present the first annual Black Carnival on Fashion’s Night Out from 6PM-11PM. Bond Street between Bowery & Lafayette will be roped off in street-fair fashion—funnel cakes replaced by luxe sushi, street meat by high fashion—to celebrate the dark (and humorous) side of fashion with black tents, live music, local cocktails, and unchecked revelry. No man is an island, and neither are retail brands, which is why these Noho favorites have joined forces. Our favorite destinations in the nabe after the jump.
