This maybe true if Jude was a hair guy, because Miller's hair was looking hot on the red carpet last night. You guys knew this "Met Gala Post" was coming, but instead of doing “the best beauty looks of the Met Gala,” (we've already got one of those) I’m going to take this as an opportunity to highlight “the best looks that withstood the humidy/thunderstorms and why” post. Did you notice the majority of the hair styles had a simple and understated elegance? That's because it had been pouring for two days straight and was 90 degrees. I got some info on Sienna Miller, Claire Danes and Rachel Weisz’s Met-heads and found out that all of their coifs had something in common: Moroccan Oil. I’ve often recommended MO to my pals as a skin and hair savior, but I did not know there was a whole product line devoted to the rare tree extract. Moroccanoil (that’s the brand’s name, simple and understated) was responsible for the ladies’ frizz-free looks on this terribly humid/rainy night.

BlackBook covergirl Rachel Weisz is definitely in bloom for our May issue, but this isn't the first time we've enjoyed her charms. She was also on the cover for Spring-Summer 2003, meaning that she's joined our exclusive club of double cover subjects. That club includes the likes of Tilda Swinton (2005 Fall Fashion and September 2008), Christina Ricci (May 2008 and Winter 2001-2002) Benicio Del Toro (Winter 2000-2001 and Winter 2004), Cate Blanchett (October-November 2003 and October-November 2007), and Naomi Watts (Fall 2004 and December-January 2007). For more, see our full gallery of every cover from every issue of BlackBook; after the jump, take a trip down memory lane with our 2003 interview with Rachel Weisz.

To the dismay of everyone within earshot of my desk, my excitement will not be quelled about how totally major this year's Cannes Film Festival is going to be. In addition to new awards-contenders from the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Michel Gondry (who didn't make the list, only because I couldn't find much on his latest film, L'epine Dans le Coeur), the sun-soaked Riviera festival will premiere Sam Raimi’s return to death and evil, as well as Jane Campion’s first major release since the Kiwi director tried, disastrously, to make Meg Ryan edgy in 2003’s In the Cut. Penelope Cruz hugs a lot of people in Pedro Almodóvar’s Broken Embraces, Ang Lee takes Woodstock and Brad Pitt screams, “Each and every man under my command owes me one hundred Nazi scalps ... and I want my scalps!” Oh, and the late Heath Ledger might just get another Oscar. After the jump, the festival’s, if not the year’s, most anticipated films (with trailers).

imageIt's understandable: Some hack flack somewhere was so giddy about Heath Ledger's Golden Globe and SAG nods that they probably ran his/her mouth at a pub somewhere. Then a nearby drunk reporter cobbled together this bit of tattle from his hearsay for UK tabloid The Sun about Christopher Nolan's third installment of Batman. In said report, all the major roles of Gotham, as it's apparently titled, are outlined, with even a teaser as to how the film might or might not end. Excellent reporting, Sun! Here are a few reasons why, aside from Christian Bale and Michael Caine, this cast list is phonier than Katie Holmes' portrayal of Rachel Dawes.
