Recession? What recession? Designer Roberto Cavalli is carrying on like it's still the mid-aughts by teaming up with Pragma Group to open five Cavalli Clubs and 15 Cavalli Cafés over the next five years, according to WWD. Cavalli hopes this new business venture "will further expand the network of clubs for entertaining my followers in some of the most important cities in the world." For now the city sites include locations across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America, including Beirut, Istanbul, Mumbai, Shanghai, and São Paulo.

Sunglasses are not only for sunny days. If you have sensitive eyes like me, the wind, cold, and atmosphere can make your eyes red and watery. I almost always have to wear sunglasses outside solely to protect my eyes. During the wintertime it can be tricky on gloomy days. People look at you like either, a: you think you’re too cool, b: you had a rough night of partying, or c: you may be, or you just think you are, a celebrity. None of which is true. I also have good vision, so I don’t have regular eyeglasses to use. I’m sure I can’t be the only person in this position. So what is a sensitive-eyed girl to do on a dark winter day? The answer is ditch the black Jackie O's (for now) and go for a pair with a lighter frame and light lenses. Like these Roberto Cavalli Chain-Embellished Visor Sunglasses, $171.

There's not much Erin Wasson hasn't done. She's styled two seasons for designer and friend Alexander Wang, launched her own jewelry line, called LowLuv, and designed collections for RVCA. Oh, and she's a supermodel with renowned personal style, which looks like the visual equivalent of what a fusion of psychedelic, folk, and tribal beats must sound like. "Music is one of my greatest inspirations," says Wasson. I love afro-funk and old school soul. I love this '70s psychedelic band from Nigeria called BLO. I also like some good old country, like Candi Staton and Wanda Jackson. My music taste is all over the place – just like my style!"

Designers John Varvatos and Roberto Cavalli have started blogging -- although, sadly, not together. The former, a notorious audiophile (who has enlisted everyone from Iggy Pop to Dave Navarro to star in his fashion ad campaigns), has, appropriately, launched a music blog. Called JVS' Funhouse, the hodgepodge of coverage includes photos from backstage at Varvatos' recent menswear runway show and images from Guns 'N Roses' performance at the Varvatos store this past Fashion Week. As it evolves, expect "a music centric blog highlighting the designer's trips to concerts, festivals, parties and backstage jam sessions around the world," says Antimusic. Also included: posts to Varvatos' monthly show on SIRIUS XM's Faction channel called Born In Detroit, an homage to the designer's hometown.

imageNot content with his pastime of laboriously sewing together wears of all kind (men's, women's, beach, under, time, and eye, to name a few), it appears Roberto Cavalli has tiptoed into the erogenous turf with some high-end dildos (sex-wear?). Noted drag queen/Pam Anderson roaster/PETA advocate Lady Bunny unearthed the gem after strolling out to a Roberto Cavalli store while in Paris for the Viktor & Rolf runway show.

Whomever said you couldn't buy your way into fame and fortune obviously never carried the Cavalli card.
