Rodarte has released a video of its Spring 2012 casting call. Instead of just showing the models walking back and forth and maybe holding up a sign with their name and agency or posing, they answer questions. It's less beauty pageant, more getting to know them and gives some insight into who these familiar faces, including Karlie Kloss, Codie Young, Jourdan Dunn, Kristina Romanova, actually are. They can read, they have opinions on the Rolling Stones, and pretty much all have accents. They're just like real people! But seriously, Lindsey Wixson does have a surprising reason for wanting to become a pilot.

Good news: Target is bringing back 34 looks from their GO International Designer Collection, meaning collaborations with the likes of Rodarte, Zac Posen, and Proenza Schouler! Bad News: Although it features 17 designer collaborations, and yes, some from our favorites, we can't help but feel there's still something to be desired. For one, they're all dresses, which means we'll have to stick to eBay for that Jean Paul Gaultier moto jacket, Mulberry crossbody, and McQ Alexander McQueen anything.

In the latest issue of Lula, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte are running the show. As guest editors, they created a Proust-like questionnaire that was answered by a mix of people that included Cindy Sherman and Jason Schwartzman. From "J.D. Salinger or Jack Kerouac?" to "If I gave you a medal right now, what would it be for?", their lengthy list of questions may seem random, but the answers tell you more about a person than you'd think. Besides, who doesn't like a good old personality quiz? Although you have to actually buy the issue to see the questionnaire, the rad Fashionista crew has jotted down the list, which you can see after the jump. I don't know about you, but I look forward to annoying everyone I know with these questions at the next holiday party.

While film critics rave over Black Swan’s cinematic quality, fashion lovers are swooning over the stunning wardrobe created by Rodarte's designer sisters, Laura and Kate Mulleavy. They also happen to be good friends with the star of the film, Natalie Portman. Rodarte’s darker “Frankenstein”-inspired designs were exactly what the film needed. Natalie introduced the sisters to director Darren Aronofsky, who subsequently asked them to do costume design for the film—and the rest is cinematic history. Kate and Laura designed about 40 costumes for the thriller, including all the knitwear pieces and leotards. Could the Mulleavys be contenders for an Oscar for costume design?

LA-based Rodarte and Brooklyn's own Bodkin are both expanding their labels this week. First up, Rodarte is going for round three in a collaboration with the unstoppable boutique-cum-brand Opening Ceremony. To hit stores this spring, Rodarte and Opening Ceremony are partnering up for a collection that "will include women’s wear, shoes, handbags, eyewear, and hosiery as well as men’s wear," and which will be stocked at OC's three international stores as well as at a sprinkling of other retailers, says Women's Wear Daily. (Rodarte's previous two collabs with OC were for a series of men's knit sweaters and a line of Breathless-inspired tees.)

About a month ago controversy began brewing as a result of Rodarte having launched a makeup collaboration with MAC that took its inspiration from an unlikely place: Juarez, Mexico. Having cited the same town as an influence on the luxury fashion brand’s SS10 collection, Rodarte came under a firestorm of criticism for having referenced a factory town notorious for its violence and aggression against women. The Frisky was the first to call foul, but the call to arms became so robust that MAC and Rodarte eventually issued an apology and vowed to put proceeds towards the betterment of Juarez. But now it seems the controversy has become too much: MAC has pulled the line entirely; it will not be produced and it will not be sold in stores.
