Dior Homme San Francisco

Things have certainly seemed slightly less fabulous since the heady days of Hedi, but Kris Van Assche has, one must admit, been a formidable successor, and as they say, the glamour must go on. This spectacular new Dior Homme boutique in San Francisco joins already existing, freestanding DH stores in New York and Beverly Hills, but it nevertheless has the scale of a flagship.

● Visitors to the Bay Area, rejoice: the historic Sir Francis Drake Hotel has reopened after a $30 million renovation. All 416 rooms have been renovated to bring to life the elegance of the 1920s (the hotel originally opened in 1928), and the lobby and 21st-floor Starlight Room have been revitalized as well. The boutique hotel’s location near Union Square has always drawn in locals as well as guests, but new restaurants, bars, and rooms will help ensure the Kimpton-owned hotel’s legacy in coming years. Morgans Hotel Group has released their summer schedule for what is shaping up to be a banner year for the “Sessions” series, which takes place at both San Francisco’s Clift Hotel, and Los Angeles’ Mondrian hotel. The free concerts in San Fran went down well with Bay Area types earlier this year, when the likes of Francis and the Light, Cass McCombs and Theophilus London played for fans.
