'SNL' writer John Mulaney -- who co-created the much-beloved nightlife correspondant Stefon -- talks about his new comedy special and album.

Lana Del Rey appeared on SNL last night.  She’s a polarizing figure and why we know her name or why she was asked to be on the show before she’s even released an official album can be debated forever on buzzy music blogs and within every ‘indie’ scene.  But no matter what side you're on in the authenticity argument (or if you just don't care because OMG she’s soooo hot) there is no room for debate: she bombed last night.

Last week's Saturday Night Live ran a cute sketch making light of Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow's predilection for pointing out his love for Jesus, like, literally all the time. The sketch, featuring a mailed in Jason Sudeikis-as-Jesus impersonation, was easy-breezy enough, though a little on the nose.

This weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live included a sketch that isn't up on Hulu, so if you're the kind of person without DVR who relies on those one-off sketches to cure your Sunday afternoon hangover, you likely missed this one. In it, SNL finally addresses a growing trend that is sweeping the nation: the uncontrollable impluse to play Adele's "Someone Like You" while crying.

It turns out that the Bill Clinton-impersonator was having a hell of a lot more secret fun than our former president was. OK, it actually doesn't sound like he had much fun. In his new memoir, God, If You’re Not Up There, I’m F*cked, Darrell Hammond reveals that he turned to drink, drugs, and self-mutilation "to escape memories of a traumatic childhood."

Saturday Night Live has a history of comedians and drug abuse. John Belushi and Chris Farley didn't make it but Darrell Hammond, best known for his political impressions of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, as well as the foul-mouthed Trebek-hating Sean Connery on Celebrity Jeopardy, managed to overcome his addictions. He is recounting tales of drug use and cutting in his new memoir God, If You’re Not Up There, I’m F*cked.

Week after week, SNL consistently wins us over with its promos. We're talking about those sixty-second snippets where you meet the week's host alongside an SNL cast member in a series of snappy, spot-on gags. This week's, featuring Scarlett Johansson and Jason Sudekis, is one of its best yet. We've only watched it about 37 times.

Precious star Gabourey Sidibe is set to host Saturday Night Live this coming weekend, and the promos look, well, decent. Unfortunately, in the current era of SNL suckage in which even Tina Fey's episode contained minimal laughs, that is saying something.
