Now that the fall/winter 2012 season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is nearly a month away (seriously, where does the time go?), Mercedes-Benz has revealed their latest "Icon of Style" campaign, shot by photographer Alex Prager. The key visual will debut during MBFW, and stars two very attractive subjects: Dutch supermodel Lara Stone, and the luxury vehicle manufacturer's new SL Roadster.

Happy

Last year, we chatted with Happy Socks creative director Viktor Tell about his legwear brand's wild collaboration with Giles Deacon. Although the range was inspired by the British designer's RTW collection, we couldn't help but notice a hint of '80s inspiration. After all, that decade was known for blindingly bright colors, zany prints, and overall kookiness, which is pretty much the Happy Socks design mantra. That's why we were pleased to see the brand take their underlying inspiration one step further with a new super '80s collection, shot by the one and only Terry Richardson.

I apologize in advance for showing this to you after lunch. If you have a delicate sensibility, you might want to wait a few hours after your turkey wrap settles. And it might be the most upsetting thing you see all week.

As Fashion Week struts on in Paris, models and the professionally cool took time out from the runways to check out plaid clad photographer Terry Richardson’s exhibit at colette in Paris last night. Model Lindsey Wixson, nightlife impresario Andre Saraiva, Purple Magazine’s Olivier Zahm, former French Vogue editrix Carine Roitfeld, street style photography progenitor Bill Cunningham, designer Jeremy Scott, and pink haired model Charlotte Free were just a few who stopped by to see the show before hopping on a "Terry" branded school bus to celebrate with a dinner at Lipp.

While non-fashion folk closed up shop on Friday night to enjoy 48 hours of R&R, the rest of us geared up for two days of back-to-back presentations and runway shows by trading in our 7-inch platforms for flats. You see, dressing cute the first few days of NYFW is fun and all, but after a few rounds of subway, taxi, and – yes – pedicab sprinting to complete an impossible schedule, comfort rapidly becomes key. Sure it's stressful, but you know what? We love it. Read on for Part One of my weekend show and party highlights, including a chat with Jessica Stam and Terry Richardson--bonus Grace Coddington sighting--after the jump.

We tip our hat to whoever does the casting over at H&M, because the Swedish retailer has just about every top model lining up to be in their campaigns. In the last year alone, Gisele Bündchen graced the Spring 2011 catalogue, followed by Natasha Poly for Summer, with Sasha Pivovarova and Karlie Kloss covering the Fall lookbooks. And H&M's latest campaign is just as impressive.

● For jewelry brand David Webb's FW11 campaign, Terry Richardson and Carine Roitfeld asked model Eniko Mihalik to bite, stretch, and pose with a mini Richardson doll. [Fashion Gone Rogue] ● The Christian Louboutin camp has gone to great legal lengths to stop luxury brands from creating red-soled shoes, and it's kind of working. While the verdict is still out on the highly publicized lawsuit against YSL, a judge recently ruled in Louboutin's favor. [The Cut] ● Tavi Gevinson may call herself a Style Rookie, but she's no business novice. The 15 year old wants full control of her new project so badly that she may be parting ways with Jane Pratt. Lady Gaga has been working with pervy photographer Terry Richardson on a book. It's called Lady Gaga, and it chronicles the past year of the artist's life. It will be released in November, and depicts Gaga's progress from Lollapalooza 2010 (where this blogger saw her perform / had no idea Terry Richardson was in the house) to the final shows of the Monster Ball tour in 2011. Terry Richardson has shot Gaga before, notably in this Harper's Bazaar spread from May.

Katy Perry's boobs are in many ways analogous to Jennifer Lopez's butt in the early aughts. It's gotten to the point where the words "Katy Perry" immediately recall "breasts," and not solely because of our own culture's prurient nature, but because she can't seem to stop talking about them, not to mention shooting things out of them and disguising them as other objects. Cue her Rolling Stone interview, out this week, which has her on the cover, shot by Terry Richardson, and those breasts dressed up as Hershey's Kisses.
