givenchy

The City of Lights has seen gloomy weather during Men's Fashion Week, and its patrons have in turn been weary. Stefano Pilati went for power dressing with a twist at Yves Saint Laurent. Leather pants and accents on black suiting was the staple. Similar to Costume National, shoes came with metallic bands. There was a downtown edge to collection; so much leather detailing that it felt a bit like stealthy kink.

She may be the face of YSL’s signature perfume, Opium, but Emily Blunt isn’t exactly sure why. When the Telegraph UK asked the insecure star of The Devil Wears Prada why her the label tapped her as its face, Blunt’s answer was. “I've no idea. There was no one else?” She continued: “They made a mistake, a terrible mistake.” But mistake or not, Blunt recently made her debut in a commercial for the brand, which features a Mexican standoff between Blunt and a leopard who stands between her and her Opium.

While we nursed seasonal allergies and dusted off our sweater collection last weekend, fashion's top globetrotters took to the streets of sunny Milan to catch the latest and greatest SS12 collections. Within 48 hours, an army of iconic fashion houses hit the runway to debut a range of ready-to-wear looks that transported spectators to exotic – and sometimes otherworldly – locales, like Emilio Pucci (shown here). Although this racy lace number has already been christened by Gwyneth Paltrow, we still love its intricate crochet work and subtle nod to the '90s. Read on for a few more favorites.

Luxury fashion house Yves Saint Laurent has just released a promo spot for their SS11 eyewear collection—and it's very serious. Directed by emerging photographer Karim Sadil, the commercial features Clément Chabernaud and Othillia Simon posing in various YSL frames to the sound of an epic classical tune. And while the models definitely give good face, creative shadow and light play elegantly emphasize the range of eyewear—especially those rad printed ones at 0:59. See what we mean after the jump.

My Saturday morning was dedicated to one thing and one thing only: Get that tote. Yves Saint Laurent's worldwide distribution of their Manifesto booklet and accompanying tote only happens twice a year, and given the fact that only 2,000 were available per city, with Los Angeles participating for the first time, I knew I had to have a game plan.

Supermodel Natalia Vodianova, who celebrated her 28th birthday yesterday, was "discovered" at age 15, around the same time she was selling fruit on the streets of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia to make money for her poverty-stricken family. I say "discovered" because the ambitious young girl had actually enrolled in a modeling academy, where she became conversational in English—at the request of a model scout—in under three months. At 17, Vodianova signed with Viva Models in Paris, pursuing a career that would come to include contracts with Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton, and Yves Saint Laurent. Aside from occasional red-carpet appearances and ad campaigns, what's she up to now?
