Contract Killer: Zombies [Free]
Stock up on ammo and prepare to meet the undead. It’s your turn to save humanity from hordes of bloodthirsty corpses by storming zombie-infested cities with weapons blazing. Obliterate all those in your path to rescue civilians and usher them to sunnier, less underworld-friendly environs. An excellent game for those hell-bent on exploring the heady thrill of exploding cerebrums.

If you're a die-hard Jil Sander fan, if you don't have an iPhone, and if you live in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, or the UK, then run to your nearest LG store, because the German designer has just launched a new smartphone with the mobile brand. In addition to a custom-designed interface and accessories, the phone comes pre-set with an app that includes a store locator, and connects to all of the designer's social media platforms, so you can live and breath Sander. The question is, will people be willing to cough up the inflated price (€330 or $449) for this phone, or would they rather keep their tech devices generic and save up for actual Jil Sander clothes instead?

Sonar [Free] Even if this feels a little Klute-inspired for our tastes, it’s inarguably handy for those of us who struggle with small talk. Instead of hopelessly trying to bridge the six degrees that separate you from the person you just met at happy hour, try Sonar, a social network aggregator that reveals otherwise hidden mutual Facebook friends, overlapping “likes,” and fellow Twitter followers while using Foursquare check-in technology to locate other users in locations as disparate as airports and concert venues. In the event there’s no time to do a complete background check on a prospective crush, the app also divulges any overlapping employment and education histories.

Silent Film Director [$1.99] Forget 3-D and CGI—it’s time to regress. With Silent Movie Director, indulge your inner Lumière brother by treating videos captured on your iPhone with a pre-talkies aesthetic. Cinematic styles available range from 1920s-era Lillian Gish glamour to home videos (not necessarily those kind of home videos) from the 1970s. Choose from the app’s eight built-in soundtracks or upload music from your iTunes folder and splice away (frantic piano score recommended). We’re pretty sure, somewhere, Steven Soderbergh is squealing with delight.

People are really taking advantage of their hotel concierges these days. Take the W Hotel. That's because in addition to old-school human concierges, W Hotels now have robots—otherwise known as iPhone apps.

Ambitious image site Fotopedia aims to become a sort of high-octane Flickr -- a global compendium of extremely high-quality photos touching on any and every subject, eventually. The focus is on careful curation of imagery from skilled photographers, rather than globs of party photos and amateur cellcam shots. To that end, they've released an increasingly focused line of mobile apps for iPhone and iPad: First the general Heritage app, followed by the very pretty but similarly nebulous Memory of Colors, and then the naturally inclined National Parks collection. But the real bell-ringer is the new Fotopedia Paris, a browsable portfolio showcasing the best pics and places from the City of Lights.

Congratulations to Pat Perry, the winner of The City Is Your Canvas Contest brought to you by I Make My Case and BlackBook! Pat’s evocative illustrations are inspired by “ephemera, wilderness, the Midwest, the concept of escape, animals, and memory,” and though he sometimes uses digital color, most of his work is still drawn by hand.
