The hottest spots in LA are doing it retro. West Hollywood kicks off the summer Tuesday, July 3, with the grand opening of Bootsy Bellows, a ‘50s meets disco-style ballroom for burlesque shows, top DJs (look out for Calvin Harris), and impromptu piano concerts. Is that Holly Golightly in the corner? No, that’s just a young twenty-something channeling her inner Audrey Hepburn.
Actor and founding member of the magical Beacher’s Madhouse David Arquette teams up with Darren Dzienciol, John Terzian, and Brian Toll to deliver this Sunset Boulevard celeb-magnet named after Arquette’s late mother, a burlesque dancer in her time. In the wake of The Roosevelt’s Mad Men-esque Spare Room or the modern day speakeasy La Descarga, Bootsy Bellows promises all the clandestine mischief you could ask for, with live performances to boot. Throwbacks aren’t just for Thursdays anymore. (Soft open/previews begin Tuesday, June 26.)
