So what's the next move for someone like Quentin Tarantino, whose Inglourious Basterds has been racking up some major awards love this year, but whose next installment in the Kill Bill franchise is still years away? A pairing with another critical darling, of course. The director is angling to team up with Helen Mirren for his next gore-fest: A bloody period piece set in medieval times, featuring Mirren as a profane monarch. Sounds plausible, right?

('DiggThis’)Despite exuding an aura of grace and dignity, Mirren is actually widely known for her own proclivity towards dropping the F-bomb, tendency towards calling female journalists "bitches", and her dicey overshares. It's a world view that curiously doesn't endanger her status as an Oscar sweetheart and makes her all the more appealing as the queenly force in Tarantino's next film. Probably because she's able to strike a balance and separate her private and professional lives. Take note, LiLo.

A source dubiously offers to British tab The Sun, "Helen has never worked with Tarantino and is interested. If the film goes into production it's likely she will play a part." For anyone completely out of the loop, yes Mirren has prolific experience playing British queens.

And while awards for this in-production Tarantinian gem would be lovely, much lovelier would simply be seeing Mirren shouting, "Bastard!" while backhanding a duplicitous vizier.
